Summer Private Instruction
Paul is now scheduling the last few slots for private instruction. Students may choose from a variety of forms, weapons, self defense applications, Olympic Fencing and Energy training regimens. If you wish to accelerate your training, learn new subjects but have specific time constraints or have trouble making regular class times, then this option may work best for you. call Paul at 301-270-0665, to see if private instruction is a better way to go. Training may be done in 1-4 month blocks of instruction based upon the subject and skill level sought.

Tai Chi Push Hands Free Workout
Each Tuesday evening between 7 and 9 PM, WST hosts an open Tai Chi Push Hands gathering in Takoma Park. Push Hands is the practice of the development the Tai Chi skill of "using softness to overcome hardness". It seeks to, through slight touch, to be able to discern the center of balance of your opponent and thereby be able to manipulate their force and redirect it in any direction one wishes. This therefore allows you to utilize body awareness, sensitivity, and misdirection to neutralize and manipulate any force coming at you. This develops the subtle skills of "listening", "sticking", and "returning" energy or force, toward its original source. This evolves into self defense where size and strength ceases to become the overriding factor in determining the victor. Increased physical and energetic awareness are by-products of the training and these are useful skills in dealing with the daily tumultuous world that we live in. The free workout is open to anyone of any style or experience level. Actually no experience is necessary and anyone who is interested in becoming more physically, or energetically balanced and aware is invited to attend. The weekly workout takes place at Liz Lerman's Dance Exchange, which is located at 7117 Maple Avenue in Takoma Park, MD. Questions may be answered by calling Paul at 301 270-0665.

Tai Chi Application Workshop July 23rd
Paul will teach a one day intensive Tai Chi Application workshop that will cover multiple uses of at least 13 different Tai Chi Postures. We will look at variations taken from several Tai Chi styles as well. Anyone seeking to deepen their knowledge of the form that they practice will benefit from this in-depth analysis, of the 13 Postures and other common Tai Chi Postures. Reserve your spot today. Space is limited to 20 Participants and the cost is $150 prior to July 14th and $200 thereafter.
